I think the blog reference might go a little better in a section like current Ph.D. prep students or current doctoral students.  There's enough stuff written on blogs that they are more of a networking/stay in touch tool that fits better deeper in the site rather than on the face of the Ph.D. program site.  Your thoughts?

Hi all, if you want my ([[Allee, Kris|Kris Allee's]]) opinion, I think that having your blog address as a part of your personal contact information would be great (i.e., put it on each personal page), but probably not appropriate for the main page of the PhD prep track websiteAs I see it the main benefit of this website is to provide macro level information on PhD programs and the schools they are affiliated with; whereas, micro level information (as in personal experiences like [http://alleefam.blogspot.com/2008/03/alyson-first-lost-tooth.html my daughter loosing her first tooth]) shouldn't be on the main page of the PhD prep track websiteHowever, this is just my opinion.

Well, previously you had a link to a page that was just on announcements for individual PhD prep peopleMy thought process was this: No one is ever going to get on the wiki and post an announcement about their life, but, they would put it on their blog, so, why not just have a link to their blog. Anyways.

I didn't think the announcement thing was going to work (and it wasn't my idea)Does anyone else have an opinion?

I took the blog page off, so deleted all comments about that (except Kris's, as it contains the sweet link to the tooth losing page).  I also took the March Madness link off, as it is locked to new entrants.  Interestingly, my (Jeff Hoopes) bracket is doing very wellYipeeeeeeeeeeee!!!.

Hi all, if you want my (Kris Allee's) opinion, I think that having your blog address as a part of your personal contact information would be great (i.e., put it on each personal page), but probably not appropriate for the main page of the PhD prep track website. As I see it the main benefit of this website is to provide macro level information on PhD programs and the schools they are affiliated with; whereas, micro level information (as in personal experiences like my daughter loosing her first tooth) shouldn't be on the main page of the PhD prep track website. However, this is just my opinion.

I took the blog page off, so deleted all comments about that (except Kris's, as it contains the sweet link to the tooth losing page). I also took the March Madness link off, as it is locked to new entrants. Interestingly, my (Jeff Hoopes) bracket is doing very well. Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!!!.
