Chad completed his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Accountancy degrees at Brigham Young University and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. His research primarily focuses on auditor judgments and decisions. He is particularly interested in judgments related to financial statement fraud and the circumstances or interventions that affect auditors' fraud-related judgments, as well as how personal incentives affect potentially affect decisions. His research is forthcoming in The Accounting Review and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.

Chad enjoys playing basketball and golf and is an avid sports fan. He and his wife, Jennifer, have five children and he enjoys coaching his childrens' sports teams.
