Every day I audit multi-million dollar U.S. Government contracts. Occasionally, my colleagues and I identify millions in costs charged to the U.S. Government that are based on insufficient and inadequate evidence. Finding and disallowing these costs bring a smile to my face because I am preventing wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars. To me, the auditor's role in private and public business is like that of an umpire in a baseball game. Well-trained, objective, and skeptical agents ensure fair play in private and public business, which improves integrity and bolsters confidence in financial reports and disclosures.

I am searching for the PhD program that best fits my research interests in the following areas: Audit Quality, Auditor impacts on public and private business environments, Performance metrics in business management, and Accounting Information Systems.

My unique background in sales, research, auditing, and teaching has prepared me to tackle penetrating questions and find solutions based on sufficient and appropriate evidence to uncover knowledge that will improve world-wide accounting practice.

It is my pleasure to meet you at the PhD Symposium of 2013.

Sincere regards,
